About me

I am Jo-Ann Howell and I use my education, language skills and experiences over the last nineteen years living in France to help English speaking residents understand their administrative obligations as property owners, employees, independent professionals, retirees and families, giving them peace of mind so they can concentrate on enjoying life in France.

I graduated from Southampton University (UK) with a Bachelors degree in Maths and French and then a Masters degree in Operational Research before moving to France. In the French Alps I worked as a bilingual receptionist for the Ecole de Ski Français for 3 three years, whilst also being on call as an interpreter for the local Police.

From Savoie, my husband and I moved to the south coast, where over the course of 15 years I held a number of positions, from PA to renovation site management, but where more importantly I have fully experienced life in France – including buying and selling property and vehicles, employment, self-employment, unemployment, and the health system to its fullest extent.

We are now in south-west France, in the Lot-et-Garonne, where we are experiencing France in a whole new way, at a totally different speed, and which is opening up new experiences with French administration that I can't wait to share with you!
