I have rented 2 apartments through the same agency over the past few years.
When I returned the first 6 months ago I received no refund on my damage deposit of 1 months rent, so when I recently returned the second apartments keys I declined to pay the final months rent, as I have returned the property in the same good state I rented it in.
Now the agency is sending registered mail to advise I must pay my last month's rent before they will calculate what is owed from my two damage deposits.
What are the rules on return of rental damage deposits please?
